Why are the mitochondrion and chloroplast designed the way they are?

These two organelles, mitochondrion and chloroplast are very important. The mitochondria are found in all sorts of different cells but the chloroplasts are only found in plants and photosynthetic protests.

The chloroplast uses energy from the sun to make carbon dioxide into glucose, an energy rich sugar. While the mitochondria gets the energy within glucose and makes a molecule called ATP.

The design of the chloroplast and the mitochondria are the same. Although their inner membrane is slightly different both these organelles were made with efficiency in mind.

  1. I posted these pictures because I thought they were easy to understand. They point out the parts. Also another reason that I added these pictures is because they have something to do with my blog post. But that reason is pretty obvious.
